thinking tag present in the claude code ik_llama.cpp
hi i am trying the claude code using nex mini but i am constally getting the thinking tag present in the claude code can you check what i am doing wrong here if you have time ?
Hi, is this problem similar to this?
https://github.com/ikawrakow/ik_llama.cpp/issues/1950
Because a fix has been merged 3 days ago. Maybe try to download the latest version and see if it's fixed?

nope its only happening for nex model and i am using the latest ik_llama.cpp build have you tried the claude code and the pro version together in ik_llama.cpp ?
I don't use Claude code, I use a modified version of Silly tavern for agentic purposes, albeit I'm also coding my own front end rn.
Can you help me understand the problem a little better?
If it's the fact that you see empty thinking tags in context logs:
<|im_start|>assistant
<think>
</think>
That's normal behaviour. Those need to be in the context for the model to understand that it must not think. This happens with Qwen 3.5 too.
If your problem is happening only with Nex N2 and not with Qwen 3.5 tho, then you must be talking about something different?
At any rate, the only difference between Qwen 3.5 and Nex N2 is the jinja, so I assume there's a compatibility problem between Claude code and the N2 jinja. You can try to use this one (with --chat-template-file /path/to/jinja.jinja):

Which simply applies the Qwen 3.5 formatting to Nex N2, but this isn't really the best way to go about it. This is a fix that should happen at the front end level.. then again Claude code is closed source.

You should use --reasoning-format auto or just remove it from your config.
this got fixed the issues
