# Welcome to the Small Language Model Consortium, an initiative by [OpenCerebral](https://huggingface.co/OpenCerebral)! 🤗

The **Small Language Model Consortium (SLM Consortium)** is an initiative dedicated to the advancement and betterment of the SLM community. We aim to promote **cooperation, research, and development** in the field of small language models.

## Leadership

More leadership positions will be added as the organization grows.

Currently, leaders are appointed because the organization is still small. In the future, some positions will become **elected positions**, allowing members to vote for their leaders.

## Membership

To become a member, you must be ratified by **two-thirds of voting members** during a 24-hour voting period.

Sounds difficult? It isn't!

The process is simple:

1. Open a discussion on this README titled **"New Member Ratification: [Username]"**.
2. Members may vote **"Ratified"**, **"Rejected"**, or abstain by simply not voting.
3. To be ratified, you must receive **at least two-thirds of the votes cast by voting members** in your favor.
4. If you are ratified, congratulations! You will officially become a member shortly afterward.
5. If you aren't ratified, don't worry! You can try again after some time.
