## Audio codecs (XCodec and XCodec2)

Audex generates audio codec tokens that are decoded with XCodec and XCodec2.
These codecs are not redistributed in this repository; users obtain them from
their original sources.

- XCodec2: Llasa (https://arxiv.org/abs/2502.04128), licensed under Creative
  Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC 4.0).
- XCodec: "Codec Does Matter" (https://arxiv.org/abs/2408.17175), licensed
  under Apache-2.0.

Audex is derived from outputs of XCodec2 and XCodec and is subject to the same
non-commercial restrictions. In particular, the bundled Audex streaming speech
decoder (`audex_causal_speech_decoder/`) was developed using XCodec2 speech
tokens and therefore remains subject to the CC-BY-NC 4.0 non-commercial
restriction. No endorsement by the XCodec2 or XCodec developers is implied.
